Jalandhar, December 30, 2020: Following the protest started yesterday dated December 29, 2020, the morning at CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur campus today got started with the staff members standing outside their locked offices as the protesters forcibly seized the entire campus. The more surprising thing is that these supporters of unknown political parties are holding this protest in the presence of local police in the campus, in regard to the non-issuance of degrees to the students under Post Matric Scholarship.
Expressing his concern, CT Group Managing Director Manbir Singh said, “This issue is quite old now but still the educational institutes are suffering because of lack of serious approach by Government. The Government has to pay back around Rs. 39 crore which is because we are suffering so much. And today, the protesters of less known political parties have forcibly entered the campus and are holding a loud protest, just in order to gain vote bank for forthcoming elections. They have captured the campus from inside as well like reception area and are creating ruckus etc. Due to this, the female staff members and students who are residing in the campus hostel are feeling unsafe as the protesters may turn violent anytime. They already burnt photographs placed at the reception area. The staff members etc are scared to enter the campus now. The situation has become helpless and we seek complete support from district administration and reach to the Government in order to resolve this issue at the earliest.”
